Now in gnome-terminal is the only transparent window it will do the shell prompt? Or does it do other windows also like the konquerer browseing windows?? How do I enable this transparent option in gnome-terminal. I use gnome for my desktop enviroment as of now but am not familiar with gnome-terminal..

I'm not sure what you mean in your first sentence but to set your gnome-terminal background to transparent right click on a blank area of your desktop and on the menu you should have a "New Terminal" option. This will bring up a gnome-terminal (of course there are many other ways to fire one up). To change it's settings right click somewhere within the terminal and select "Edit Current Profile". On the "Effects" Tab you should see an option for "Transparent Background".

I set my shading bar about 75-80% toward the maximum. I also like to turn off all of the menus and scrollbars as you can tell from my screenshots. I find no use for them so they just take up extra space. To scroll I press SHIFT+PGUP/PGDN so it's a waste of time to have the scrollbar there and take my hands off the keyboard and grab the rodent.

Konsole is very similar in how you change it's settings for transparent background.

In Gnome you can also set your panels to have transparent backgrounds but I don't believe there is a way to have translucent menus like you can do with KDE.
