Mandrake as DHCP server...

Postby AudioMechanic » Wed Jun 11, 2003 6:44 pm

Hello all,

I am tring to set up a Mandrake Linux 9.0 box (x86) as DHCP server for a Windoze machine (soon to be dual boot :D ) and a Macintosh. I already installed drakwizard and ahve all of the server components installed as well. Also everything is hooked up.

My problem is simple. When I try to enter in the IP address range, the wizard tells me that the range I entered is incorrect. I have tried many different ranges all with the same result. The server manual I downloaded off of Mndrake's site has no answer either.

Any ideas?

Also, I am going to set the server up for filesharing and printsharing as well. Are there any tips or tricks anyonr would like to share?

Thanx in advance for any help. This is the first time I have ever set up a network and I'm glad Linux is my server.

Sorry for the typos, I am typing on one of those Microsoft "ergonomic" split keyboards. It was the only spare I had.
