Hosting an IRC server in my machine

Postby bazoukas » Mon Jan 27, 2003 12:54 pm

I know that lots of oops start from IRC (bots and all that). But am thinking of hosting one in my machine for people to go in (not all people). But I secure that I just need to figure out this.

I created an account in RH that has zero permisions and left only the IRC app available for execution.
What happened is that when i logged in it said that because the home dir is locked problems will be created and it logged out.

From what I can understand is that I need to change the Download directory of the IRC app to another isolated directory that will have the appropriate permissions.

Edit- I had a brain fart. I wanted to put this under RedHat.
