Upgrade from Red Hat 9.0 to Fedora

How to upgrade from RH9 to Fedora ?
Can I just simply use a gui tool like synaptic or that kind of stuff ?
Will I still be able to play Quake III ? (read : will 3D acceleration & OpenGL still be of use ?)

And last one, what will be the benefits of making such an upgrade ?
