RPM no work

Postby Master of Reality » Mon Dec 15, 2003 8:07 pm

erm... i have a problem with RPM. i do rpm -Uvh apt-get.rpm or rpm -ivh whatever.rpm or rpm -q whatever
and it sits there and doesnt do anything. ctrl-c doesnt kill it, kill doesnt kill it, i have to do a kill -9 to stop it.
Where should i be looking for error messages or how to fix it? This is a fresh install of Fedora Core 1

I run into this problem every once in a great while, which is why I have a tip on the subject:

I seem to run into the problem more often when I get impatient with the rpm command. Breaking out with a ^C before an rpm command finishes will usually result in this problem.
