ext3 undelete?

Postby Stryker » Wed Dec 24, 2003 9:54 pm

Does anyone know of an ext3 undelete program? I lost about 4 months of work on a distro I'm making and really don't want to start over. I would've made backups but dont have enough disk space :(, i'm such a loser. Anyways, if anyone has a solution i'll love you forever

hi,

Afraid to say, there is no way u can undelete in ext3...ITs a journaling file system and zeroes out the inodes....(unlike ext2)

You could try to 'cat' the hdd to another hdd and do a grep for the files...

good luck!

There is some proprietory windows software that will make a try at it, but it's not very good.
Nor can I remember its name, sorry.
