remote control of windoze

Postby cdhgold » Tue Mar 16, 2004 3:49 pm

I currently have PCAnywhere installed on a couple of my in-laws windoze systems to make my life easier when they call with problems. the down side is I have to use windoze to run PCAW. Has anyone tried using PCAW in Wine or can you suggest a better way to be able to remote control a windoze box from linux? i know I could use VMWare but don't want to even have virtual windoze on my box.

I tried PCAnywhere once, it's so bulky! There's just no need.

Unfortunately you have little choice but to remote control a remote Windows machine to do many administrative tasks. It's just not necessary or preferred in UNIX/Linux. Remote administration is something that has has been built in to UNIX since day 1 over 30 years ago.
