Keyboard flops after GTK packages installed

I get the same message but synaptic starts. It's doesn't start for you? But then "kdesu -c /usr/sbin/synaptic" also works for me under GNOME. Hmmm.

No no...it worked for me, I was just curious about the messages...I'm at work, I'll try the second when I get home.

I see. Yeah, it's somewhat common to get a lot of messages like that (you won't see them if you run the commands from a menu or from an ALT+F2 run box).
