search.php?search_author=*&sort_by=0&sort_dir=DESC&search_time=2

have you noticed that if you visit the site (or any phpBB board) and don't read all the threads, when you come back it shows up as if you read them all anyway? and you never know which ones you have or haven't seen? well it's annoying. but recently (and only on this site) i notice that i can log in, but then i still get the generic not logged in front page, when i log in again, it's done the same thing, ie everything that was posted since my last login now looks like i have read it.

well the link above helps so i have stuck it there ^^^ for easy reference!

i don't think it's easily available on the site here (although it should be on the front page in my opinion) it shows you the first couple of lines of all new posts in the last 2 days. You can change the number at the end to reflect any number of days since you last visited the site.

just mentioning it...

Awesome! Now I just need to figure out where to stick it! I'll try and get that done this evening after rejetting my dirt bike, putting new tires on it, changing the oil, cleaning the air filter, etc. Spent a week in Colorado riding the mountains.

I just got home and decided to implement the change before doing the dirt bike work. I hacked it in nicely and updated all the style templates. You should find it on the main page. Let me know what you think:

Yes! I like. Will make it so much easier when I lose the forums for whatever reason.

Allways been a problem to know which were really read.

Only one request (question) - sometimes I only get onto the forum like
once a week. Now how about doing the same but give the option for 7 days as well?
or some such? or maybe just put an array of say 5 numbers up there say
2, 5, 7 14 and 30 and the one chosen is the number of days to display?

Only asking - this is typical of program changes ain't it? do something and
there is allways some fool that wants something extra or something changed;)

Yeah, I already have been looking into that as a matter of fact. :) I had actually made this same suggestion about 6 months ago over on someone elses phpBB board and they implemented it. I believe he used a default of 2 days but made it configurable in the profile. I am thinking more along the lines of a pulldown box. In the mean time you can click on the 2 days and then change the 2 in the URL to whatever you want. I know it's ugly but if I can get a few minutes strung together I'll try and get it implemented right.

EDIT: I just hard coded it to 14 days. That should be enough and I don't think it is any more cumbersome then 2 days.

wow cool! thanks for implementing it void!

maybe you could have 2 or 3 hard links with 2 days, 7 days and 14 days, just to stick my little fly in the ointment. i know another guy who has about 7 different links all up the top there.

or you could just have it do this:

view last 2 / 5 / 7 / 14 / 28 days

and have only the numbers be your hard links.

anyway, that's me truly finished dipping my fly in the ointment! :-D
