apt-get from RedHat9 to Fedora Core 2?

Postby ZiaTioN » Sat Sep 25, 2004 2:07 pm

Is this still an issue? I know when Core 2 first came out it was somewhat of a headache to install Core 2 via apt-get. I am just wondering if this is still the case? I would be upgrading from RedHat9 straight to Fedora Core 2, so would this jump also cause any issues?

Upgrading from CD would certainly be the best way if you had the CDs. I would expect that you would run into similar issues that I and others ran in to when upgrading previously. I've never seen anything that couldn't be resolved though. Just make sure you also install a new kernel as a dist-upgrade would not do this.

Yeah, I had bad luck going from RH9 to FC1 or FC2. I downloaded the ISO's of FC2 and everything we good. I would recommend using the CD's/DVD's to do the upgrade.
