I agree with both of you .. however some shops still use some windoze and samba gives a way to get linux and windoze to play nice till such time as the windoze can be replaced .. like at my office I run Fedora 8 but sometimes have to copy files to or from a windoze system .. a better running samba is better or the linux world
I don't look at it that way. I see having a better running Samba as a way to make having Windows around less painful. That is helping Microsoft for something that never should have been a problem from the beginning if Microsoft wanted to play nice.
