Selecting up with a mouse in vim

When I do :set mouse=a, I can drag the mouse down to select text below the current bottom line (vim just scrolls down). I can't do the same when I drag my mouse up. Is there any way to change this behavior?

Re: I just won the lottery!

also interesting: the value is kicks-ass.net is $38.75 million, which must mean that the rest of *.kicks-ass.net is worth -$22.05 million! you should get better neighbors!

Re: Ubuntu destroyed my youth.

I'm guilty of the alt+f2 thing as well. maybe I didn't realize how much I depend on CLI!

Re: Ubuntu destroyed my youth.

Nobody wants to remember 60,000 commands and variables to run everything from the terminal. So some things are faster that way, but most aren't because humans are visual creatures, most of us prefer to actually see what we're doing in a non text manner because it's how our brains are hard wired. i ...

Thanks for your help! It ended up being that the server wasn't configured to allow X tunneling, but this is good information to know nonetheless.

Thanks for the help! I am still having some problems making it know where the shared library is. This is what I have: glebzh@vminteractive:~/gsl_test$ ~/gsl/bin/gsl-config --libs --cflags -L/home/users/glebzh/gsl/lib -lgsl -lgslcblas -lm -I/home/users/glebzh/gsl/include glebzh@vminteractive:~/gsl_te...

Installing a library

I am trying to use the GNU scientific library (http://www.gnu.org/software/gsl/), but I don't have root access, so I did this: $ ./configure --prefix=$HOME/gsl $ make $ make install everything compiled fine, but now I am not sure how to use the library! I've tried using the -L and -I options with gc...

I ran through your tips, but the last part (IIRC) didn't really match up--there was a nifty Slackware version on the net, though, so I used that.

The premissions on the directoty are the same as all the font folders. I ran both mkfontdir and mkfontscale in the directory. I'm not using xfs.
