That must be good for Red Hat considering the raving you were doing over SuSE 8.2. Isn't it great having these tough choices to make? :) Te he. Good luck having the same tough choices with MS. Oh no wait you cant :D I dunno but RH8 at first looked really good to me, but after a while, there were so...

I like this one. It reminds me of a greek author called kzantzakis and he said, we die from the very first moment we arive in this world. The in between is just a fight to bring the world in a higher level. At least it should be like that.

Well even though i never met or spoken to void main, he holds a special place in my heart. And i do say this with a serious tone. He was the guy that made me go from a linux wannabe to a 101% Linux user (Yes, I have broken to pieces my windows cd, for real. Its now 4 pieces. Smashed it on my desk). ...

sorry for the delay! Well people I can safely say that Suse 8.2 kicks some MAJOR butt. End of story. What i love about it, is that its polished down to the smallest detail. Another thing that I love about it is that if you want to configure your system using GUI you still see the config files and th...

Allright void. Thanks for clearing that up. I was reading a book about OO (open source) and it made the point about companies writing their own programs but the question (on my previous post) came to my mind right away.

Totally agree with you on that one. If there was repositories that contain all the RPMs that would be perfect. And yeah aptget solved my problem with RH but i had some problems under suse with it. Problems that a simple user will find too much to bother with.

Question about Open Source programs.

I understand that with OO apps companies can share them and they dont have to spend precious time and lots of money in writing a program that somebody else has already writen. They can take that same app modified to their needs and make it even better. Ok that I can understand and it makes sense to ...

Oh yeah, i didnt mean to say that RH cannot be used as a Desktop OS. It can act as Desktop OS with no problem what so ever. Nothing is missing for the user to have a pleasent time doing his desktop work. Its just that RH has more GUI utilities to monitor if you use it as a server with the X "turned ...

I will start on a random order. P2P http://gtk-gnutella.sourceforge.net/ and it does work. Text editor http://anjuta.sourceforge.net/ . Since they are just young kids, its not a good idea to force them in something it bores them to death such as Vi. My moto is for everything is "start slow". Anjuta ...
