What am discovering is that many people just need a little push. Someone to tell them "hey its not brain surgery, anyone can do it". I strongly believe that we as a Linux comunity are responsible for spreading the word.Partialy (in a big way) it will be our own fault if Linux fails. There are many p...

LAN parties are good for Spreading the Penguin

Yep.
LAN party at my school. After some hours of carnage few people started asking me about Red Hat.

I ended up burning RedHat for 6 people. They were astonished by it.
Not bad.

Just pondering

Anaconda is writen in python. Now I saw the code and I can understand what the code does more or less.
Can I write Anaconda using C++ and use Anaconda's code as a blueprint more or less.

I decided to go ahead and try to make a distro that is based on RedHat. It seems more easy to do it that way.

The Bork edition behaves differently on one Web site: MSN. Users accessing the MSN site will see the page transformed into the language of the famous Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show: Bork, Bork, Bork!

Do you plan on writing your own package management system, use an existing package management system, or use no package management system? I assume you are going to write the installer as well? Ok here is what am thinking of doing. Gather at first the basics. Such as the kernel, gcc, vim or emacs,i...

I have hard time respeacting people that go for programming o networking and either dont know what the GNU is or dont have the slightest idea on how to use it. I find them simply downright stupid even if they are smart or smarter than me. Its their job and they should at least know about it. Talking...

Well, I decided to take the huge jump and start doing it.

After few days of taking a brake away from computers I decided it. That would be to create my own Distro. Since there is ALOT to learn with Linux and jumping left and right, doesnt help me much I decided to create a distro of my own, no matter how long it takes. Thus providing me a linear way of lea...

I was looking at the C samples you gave X11 void.

This is the first time am looking at socket programming. Kinda puts together what I learned so far in C++.

X11 I am gonna start picking up Socket programming this weekend. This should be fun to say the least.

The most wacky moment of your life thread.

I had (as all of us many crazy moments) but the one I recall now and kinda makes me laugh is when I first came to Midwest from NYC with the Greyhound train. About 15 of us in the smoking area we were singing Brown Eyed Girl. Intresting group. A satanist that graduated from Harvard, a guy from Britai...
