Re: how to DEcrease disk size

Worst case you could rsync it again and it should only copy the files that are missing or changed.

Re: how to DEcrease disk size

Yes you can, Boot in rescue mode, mount your file systems, chroot to the new file system and install package from CD. Otherwise boot your old drives, mount your root file system from the new drive, chroot into it and yum install grub.

Re: how to DEcrease disk size

You weren't trying to install grub to your boot sector using rpm commands were you? The grub package being installed is not the same as installing grub to your boot sector. Sounds like you already had the grub package installed but you use the "grub-install" command as I mentiond before to install g...

Re: how to DEcrease disk size

What kind of drive are you hooking up? I guess you can hot plug a SATA drive but I've never done it. I would shut the system down before even plugging in a SATA drive but that's me. USB is the only thing I would be comfortable hot plugging on low end hardware and USB devices should be detected just ...

Re: how to DEcrease disk size

I assume you have a separate /boot partition that you are copying over as well? You want to keep /boot in a relatively small partition (~100-250MB)at the beginning of the drive. You can create the /boot partition first and copy your data over with rsync but yes the first time you boot with the new d...

Re: how to DEcrease disk size

Although you "can" shrink your partition that's not how I would do it. I would put the 2nd drive in, format it and copy all the data over at the file level (rsync would be good for that). You don't want the file system that you are copying to be active so if it's got your root file system on it you ...

Re: Search in here is not good

I switched it from phpBB internal searching to mysql searching in the config. Not sure why the internal phpBB searching does not work but it sounds like if you are running on mysql it's just better in general to use the mysql based searching.

Re: Search in here is not good

I just clicked on your username and clicked "search user's posts" and it showed all 740 of them. You don't get that? If not, here's the search it ran:

Re: Google rips off Linux GPL code for Android?

I read over the article and am not really on any "side" on this issue, mostly because I don't know enough about it (yet). What's interesting is that it seems to be about headers which can be a little different than other code in that headers usually do not include actual code but are specifications....

Re: Port knocker for Android

Yeah, that's it. Just go into your settings menu and click on "applications". It should be listed in there along with the version.
