Re: IPv6

More on iptables being applied to the bridge by default (which causes problems with radvd automatic address assignment on kvm guests): http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking To disable iptables on the bridge (as it should be) add this to /etc/sysctl.conf on the kvm host: net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-i...

Re: Retry to ReUPing the networkd card

The DHCP log entries should be in /var/log/messages.

Re: Retry to ReUPing the networkd card

I think it should keep retrying if you have it set to DHCP. What do your logs show?

Re: Error on link

It works now. Well, there actually isn't any data at the moment and won't be until the end of this month. Not sure why there is about a 1 month gap in posts last year at this time. Weird. Must have have been a change during an upgrade about that time is the only thing I can figure.

Odd things that are running Linux

I have a Sony Bravia HD TV and there is a "feature" that causes the TV to darken on dark scenes. This bugged me and bugged many many other people based on internet searches. There was no way to disable that feature but I realized that with a firmware upgrade I could disable that feature. So, I downl...

ZoneMinder Motion Detecting Video Security app

I wrote a motion detecting security app about 10 years ago that would take images from a network cam. I was thinking it would be nice to have a security camera in my garage so I picked up a cheap webcam from Walmart on the way home from work tonight and installed an app called "ZoneMinder": http://w...

Re: Fedora 12 running on Android

Android already uses iptables. Also my phone provider does not allow incoming connections over the mobile data network and appears to NAT the connection. I have an httpd server running and can get to it over my wifi connection but cannot get to it via the address on the mobile interface or the NATed...

Weird. Never thought I would see a BSD kernel in a traditional Linux distro.

Re: 1280x720 Tablets?

I'm interested in the same thing. I see Android 3 coming out for a bunch of new tablets coming out but I think I would rather have a full blown Linux on a tablet. Android is "okay" for a phone but waaaaay too limiting for my taste. The guys I work with have mentioned a few that are coming out but th...

Re: Weird USB IDE controller issues...

Is this Ubuntu? Are you running Gnome? If so and If you are logged in to the system and if there is a mountable file system on the disk when you insert it it should get mounted automatically under "/media/volumelabel". Do you have gnome-volume-manager installed and set to start automatically? A coup...

I don't think there is a problem here and don't like the idea of changing this:

Re: IPv6

I had trouble getting IPv6 connectivity on my KVM guests. After some searching I found that you have to make sure this line is in your KVM host's ip6tables:

Code: Select all

-A FORWARD -m physdev --physdev-is-bridged -j ACCEPT
Works fine now.
