DRM is the scourge of mankind, the 'black death' of the 21st century, the plague of IT. If anyone is doing anything against it, it's interesting by definition.
Read the GNU's view on it as well: http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/opposing-drm.html

I don't think Ubuntu does that anymore, you have to order each release. Concerning the CDs/DVDs: the "Desktop CD" is an attempt at joining a Live CD with a graphical installer. THe downloadable DVDs join that with the good old debian installer, still present in the "Alternate CD". BTW, hello y'all, ...

I must say that's not exactly a thing that should turn away a new user, nor a non-techie user, such as my-self (well, i'm half way, i guess). Unfortunately, i cannot dignify most of what you said with a proper response, since it means nothing to my n00bish self. There was, however a possword issue, ...

I love Ubuntu. It fits all the needs of a stupid user, thank you very much, X11 :) It's available, custamisable, easy - very easy, if that's what you're looking for, and Dapper (out june 1) should really be something. The best part is the community, although once you know this place, you can never e...

lol... the irony. On one end, people throwing machines in the trash. On teh other, people who want the components so bad, they are willing to go through the trash to find them. Wouldn't the world be a better place if the former... had a brain? <ot> And since it's not worth starting a new thread for:...

Wow, the 2GB SD card has a read speed of 21MB/s and write of 15.5MB/s. That hard drive is not a lot higher at 25-27MB/s. I ordered a 512MB card. I wonder if it can be partitioned so you could have a VFAT partition that the camera can use and a linux partition? Hmmm. :) That is some good stuff. Do y...

Hey congrats fellow dvoraker. But I don't know - I set it up at installation.

You can always do a "loadkeys dvorak", that's solve the problem for one session.

I heard a rumor of this at school and I knew immediately there's a catch (or many). I'll try finding them, but I'm curious if any of you see any...:) The company's proposal to Ecma International (...) would make Microsoft Office Open XML an international standard. The proposal is backed by companies...

OK: In the end I got xkeycaps working. It's a bug concerning Numlock, and for some reason it didn't work to just press Numlock before - now it did. With that, I managed to create the proper settings. Done. Finito. Everything works. I thank you for your help - and patience. I will never have another ...
