tx.

That gave me the right place to look.

Had to however add "pts/[0-9][0-9]*" to the "<console>"
class to make it work correctly.

Having a problem with vnc - but'll try and see if the above fixed that as well.

Regards

permissions for sound and video

Hi. My problem  - signing on as a non-root user after a reboot the /dev/dsp and /dev/video* permissions have reverted to 600. Which means using su to change them. Where and how do I make the permission changes permanent, except through a startup script? or is there something I miss? I do somet...

Athene OS and X11 alternative

Anybody have any experience with either the OS
or the X11 frontend?

Encountered the site by accident.
Is it worth the $30 odd for the product to investigate?

The site - http://www.rocklyte.com/athene/index.html -

Regards.

I have been informed by an IT manager of a big univercity down here that all of this is a Linux issue!. These worms/virii are created by Linux users no less - to shame and attack poor micro$oft 'cause they are so big/good. (Oh - and is he upset 'cause the IT classes are moving to Linux staring...

ahem. Right - lets get the terminology right. Am 'course talking about raid 1. Reason: it is a straight forward, simple solution and disk space is cheap. Raid 5 - I'm not sure whether a 300Mhz mac-hine will do the job. Also the following was in mind when deciding on Raid 1. "Note If you are making a...

No - it is only Mozilla that acts up. The rest of X is ok! Tx for the pointers - but that wasn't the problem - have read the Nvidia readme - but was non the wiser. In desperation - reinstalled Mozilla with the "--force" options, and it now seems to work again. Will have to check the other pro...

RH9 and USB drives

Hi. Discovered a strange problem with my RH9 install. Was running 2.4.20-8 without any problems. The machine I use - I try to keep up2date as far as possible - purely for testing "new" versions of software etc. When I installed 2.4.20-13.9 - the machine hung during boot while executing kudzu - looki...

All the URL's for my bank end in ".asp"
and only really renders proper with m$ internet exploder.

That should be enough proof that the website is m$
based.

Is there another way of getting some more info?
eg. using pinky, finger or some such? to see the rev
or type of system/engines used?
