well kicker work is now being contrary and sometimes works and then stops. I might install slicker and use it instead.

soemthing bad happened.... gaim started to recieve a file transfer and crashed (the file transfer in gaim is extremely new and apparently unstable). Now i restarted X and KDE. err..... i followed those direction and set it to the precise sync ranges and it gives me the same sort of errors in the log and goes to 1280X1024

I found out what was wrong by lookin at the log. well... i guess i configured my monitor wrong because i dont know anything about it other than its 21" NEC MultiSync XP21 and has done 1200X1600 before in linux. yes, handguns do have rifling, it was just first used in rifles, (which is what differentiated between muskets and rifles)

well... i bet that if i ran xf86config it will put it in the right file for me. But i am gonna do a re-install of slackware 9.0 because quite a few things have gotten messed up by just upgrading the packages, and i think it will be easier if i just install from the CD.

X resolution

I just upgraded every package on my machine and now when i start X it has a resolution of 1024X1200 instead of 1200X1600. I check the config file and its exactly the same as it used to be with it set to 1200X1600. Where the hell could X be getting its settings from????
