Re: Sound for RedHat 9?

I have always had sound issues when dealing with all distros of Linux. I pray that they some day get it right. I believe, and I could be wrong - it often happens, but I was reading an article on this a few years ago. The problem is not so much getting sound to work. That is a piece of cake. The tro...

Been away a while - life and stuff - you know. Anyway you know that brick wall when you suggest a way to improve someones life. Yeah it's like that. She has two lappies. To quote 'I don't want to learn something new'. No longer my roommate - still a friend, but one of those hopeless cases. I just ke...

Music Publishing Software

Hi All,

Does anyone know of a good Music Publishing program. Ideally for Fedora, but another distro would be acceptable.

TIA.

Linux questions forum The above thread contains a lot of details. There is apparently a cut and paste some code solution for you x driver. Two things I would pint out. 1. Some of the early links are missing, but some are reposted later on in the thread. 2. It is actually for xfree86, so I do not kn...

P.S. It's nice to know that at least ONE person reads the man pages. Great work! :) It's amazing how much great info you can find right in the man pages (even if this wasn't the best example). :) You kinding me? Anyone who doesn't read the man pages is stupid. IMHO : They are, point of fact, the mo...

Hmm, that was about all I could find on the subject. You might want to head over to www.gnome.org and look through the gnome-pilot-list on the discussions area. I have been lead to understand that you can configure the connection from Evolution rather than use the setup gpilot applet. I am not sure ...

This is a USB device right? If you run the gpilotd config applet you should be able to set the timeout to more than the default 2 seconds. Suggest 4 or 5. Sounds like you might have the possible race conditon issue. I have seen it suggested that if you kill the hotsink process wait a few seconds and...

I know gainsaying Void could be dangerous, but you could try

$ man apt-cdrom

I cannot verify that it does work. I am, for the time being not able to experiment on this system. It definately leaves me with the impression that as long as the CD is readable it can work without extra work.

Aaaaarrggghhh. So I found out why I have all these website issues, why it took forever to download FC2. Some bright spark decided to put the frame used for drying clothes next to the couch. Folded up it fits between couch and wall, nicely. In so doing they have hit the telephone cable. Probably only...

I would recommend you read through this. http://www.siliconvalleyccie.com/linux-hn/wmp11-linux.htm The trouble you will find is that the wireless support for Linux was slow to get off the ground, it is now much better but there are still legacy issues, and you may not have the best choice of card in...
