Back in the day when Mac wasn't Intel-based and they were much slower than what they are now, I saw a purpose and reason for Yellow Dog Linux. Gave those an alternative to the simple Mac OS X of the time.
However, Apple have gone intel and now enable most OS's systems under the intel-based umbrella. So is there much need or real demand for this distro anymore?
I understand that this distro is also used on the PS3 and other IBM chipped systems, but its only time and demand until a distro is developed more targetted to those systems(Linux for Playstation 3).
So the question of my curiosity is: Does anyone use this distro anymore? Is there any need for it?[/i]
