need command help

i ssh into redhat systems and use the screen command so that the session can be resumed from otehr session later .. does anyone know the equivalent in Suse? i use screen and can't tell if it did anything when i use it in putty under windoze on a redhat system my putty title changes to let me know i am in screen do not get the same response when using screen on suse.
