since it says that the reader of this book needs to know C will I be able to apply the same concepts but use C++ instead anc compile whatever code I write and have it work with no problem?
Am asking because I know that LINUX is mainly made with C and I know C++.

Good! Now you can help X11. He's been working on some socket programs. As far as C++ and socket programming, you should be able to use any of the C functions mentioned in the book but most (all) of the TCP/IP stuff in the kernel is written in C. At least I believe that to be the case.
